100 DULCOLAX enteric-coated tablets in a tin at arzneiprivat

DULCOLAX enteric-coated tablets with bisacodyl – for constipation with bloating and abdominal pain

DULCOLAX Dragees gastro-resistant tablets contain the active ingredient bisacodyl, which is a laxative. Bisacodyl increases the amount of fluid in the intestine, softens the stool, increases stool volume, facilitates bowel movement, and thus facilitates defecation. DULCOLAX coated tablets can therefore be taken for constipation, during intestinal examinations (diagnostic or therapeutic), or for conditions that require bowel movements.

After taking DULCOLAX coated tablets, the effect can be expected after approx. 6 to 12 hours. If DULCOLAX coated tablets are taken in the evening before going to bed, they can work overnight so that you can go to the toilet in the morning.

Dosage of DULCOLAX tablets:

DULCOLAX tablets should be taken in the evening with plenty of water if possible.

  • Children aged 2-10: 1 coated tablet daily
  • Children aged 10 and above & adults: 1-2 coated tablets daily

DULCOLAX coated tablets should only be taken for a short period of time. If symptoms persist, a doctor should be consulted.

Mode of action

How does the active ingredient in the medicine work?

The active ingredient prevents water and salts from being removed from the intestinal contents. At the same time, it promotes the flow of water and salts into the intestine. This increases the volume of the intestinal contents and softens them, which leads to a urge to defecate and easier bowel movements.

1 Manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP/UVP)

2 Pharmacy Selling Price (AVP). The AVP is not a manufacturer's recommended retail price. The AVP is a price applied by the pharmacies themselves for over-the-counter medicines, which corresponds to the binding selling price for pharmacies at which a pharmacy bills the product with the statutory health insurance company in certain cases (e.g. for children under the age of 12). .
In contrast to the AVP, the usual RRP is a recommendation from the manufacturer.
